Dionne Liu leads UBC Jessup Moot Team to 2nd Place Victory in National Rounds
February 23, 2022
Harper Grey lawyer, Dionne Liu, has been an active coach of the UBC Jessup Moot Team for over five years. She coaches the team in collaboration with UBC faculty member, Sara Ghebremusse.
This year, we are proud to announce that Dionne and Sara have led the team to place second in the national moot rounds and they will now be moving on to compete in the international rounds which start at the end of March.
Jessup is the world’s largest moot court competition, with participants from roughly 700 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. One team is allowed to participate from every eligible school. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case. Read more about the Competition here.
An alumnus of UBC’s Allard School of Law, Dionne participated in the Jessup Moot as a law student and is eager to give back by coaching current law students.
