Caryna Miller

With a broad litigation practice spanning in technically challenging complex litigation matters, professional liability defence, class action defence, and environmental contamination, Caryna has appeared and made submissions for her clients in courts across Canada, including the courts of appeal in British Columbia and Alberta.

Caryna’s commercial practice focuses on complex product liability claims, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, oppression remedy claims and injunctions. She has handled, and is currently handling, significant commercial litigation mandates for clients in the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Her construction practice is primarily focused on defending engineers and architects against error and omissions claims, and advising on risk management, including contracts, insurance, and pre-litigation dispute resolution.

On the environmental front, she is an integral part of our environmental team working closely with a wide variety of clients relating to complex environmental compliance matters. Caryna’s environmental practice is focused on risk management and cost recovery claims, and she works extensively on litigation matters related to the recovery of remediation costs pursuant to the Environmental Management Act and Contaminated Sites Regulation, and related common law causes of action arising from environmental contamination. She routinely assists commercial property owners, developers, and other businesses in understanding their environmental regulatory responsibilities, with a particular focus on minimizing environmental risk arising from ownership of and operations on contaminated lands.

Caryna serves on the board of directors of Pacific Community Resource Society, a non-profit that provides accredited social services across British Columbia, including youth and family support, education, employment, housing, substance use, and mental health services.
