Claire Shanna

Claire maintains a practice focused on health and insurance law.
In her health practice, Claire advises health care providers including physicians, dentists and massage therapists with malpractice actions and regulatory issues. She also assists professionals with privacy matters including responding to privacy breaches and requests for personal information under provincial and federal legislation. Her previous experience working in cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency gives her unique insight into the health profession.
On the insurance side, Claire defends insureds facing claims of bodily injury and property loss. She has represented clients ranging from casinos, restaurant chains, retail businesses, construction companies, grocery stores and homeowners.
An avid volunteer, Claire has given her time to various organizations including Pro Bono Students Canada, Access Pro Bono, Student Legal Assistance, Big Sisters of BC, the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society and Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Outside of work, Claire has a passion for travel and has travelled to over 40 countries. She also enjoys skiing, golfing and playing tennis.
