Daniel Reid to speak at Pacific Business and Law Institute “Local Government 2019: Current Issues” Conference

On Friday, May 17, 2019 Harper Grey’s Daniel Reid will present at the “Local Government 2019: Current Issues” Conference. Daniel will be speaking on the topic of “Liability for Computer System Issues,” specifically addressing ransomware, bitcoin mining, privacy breaches and defamation.
The forum, organized by the Pacific Business and Law Institute, will feature leading experts with experience in advising local governments in order to provide attendees with insight into many of the most important issues in government today. Issues to be discussed include recent case law and legislative developments, municipalities appearing before administrative tribunals, procurement processes, consultations with First Nations, computer and privacy breaches, and land use and development.
